Finished Confessions of a Teen Sleuth started The Blood Gospel

I finished this book this morning, it was a lot of fun and I really recommend this book.

January 9th we went to The Poisoned Pen to see James Rollins and Rebbecca Cantrell, for their new book The Blood Gospel, here is a link to the webcast that they streamed of the event http://new.livestream.com/poisonedpen/TheBloodGospel.

It was really interesting, as all the events we've gone to are.  So far the book has me hooked, Michelle is also reading this and has told me that there are a couple twists, so I can't wait to get to them.

Peyton Place review and new book

I finished Peyton Place last night.  I really enjoyed it, and was surprised by some of the changes that they did in the movie, some I could understand why, but others I'm not sure why they did it.  This would be a book that would benefit from a remake in my opinion, especially if it was done on HBO, that way they it can be as long as it needs to be.  I still like the movie, but after reading the book I think I like the book better.

So on to my next book, I chose Confessions of a Teen Sleuth by Chelsea Cain.  It's a parody of Nancy Drew, I just started it today and I'm almost half way through it.  It's really funny, and makes me want to go back and read the series.  It's been ages since I read a Nancy Drew book.  This is one that I definitely recommend.

Peyton Place

I totally forgot to post about the next book I chose to read.

I've always wanted to read this book, it's been one of my favorite Lana Turner movies, but I've never been able to find a copy.  Not too long ago when my dad was out to visit we went to this used book store that we just heard about and I found a copy.  So far I'm really enjoying it, it's really interesting to be able to compare the difference between the book and the movie.

The Boss Chapter One

I got a sneak peak at the first chapter of The Boss and I loved it.  It definitely left me wanting the next chapter, here is the link to the blog where you can read it for yourself The Boss in 3 days.  It has elements of the Devil Wears Prada, so if you liked that then you will probably enjoy this too.

The Land of Stories The Wishing Spell

I just finished this book today, it was really cute and just the thing I needed to read after a thriller.  It was a bit predictable, but I think that has to do with the fact that if you know the fairy tales in the story well you can see where the story it going.  It was a great read.

The Boss

My sister introduced me to this blog Sweater for days. . . where Jenny recapped the book 50 Shades of Grey, I actually started reading the original version of the story when the characters were still Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, but I honestly couldn't finish it, it was then and still is some of the worst writing I've ever read, but to be honest I wanted to know what happened, and Jenny has made it so easy.  Check out her recaps, every post is hilarious and so entertaining.  She decided that she wanted to write a story in the same genre as 50 Shades.  The first chapter of The Boss will be available January 15, so check it out.

Two Graves and The Land of Stories

So I finished this book yesterday, I liked it so much more then the last book, but I am glad that this was the last part of the story.  If you haven't read any of the Pendergast series, then I recommend that you do, the first book is The Relic, but my favorite book of the series is Cabinet of Curiosities and Still Life With Crows.

So I was trying to figure out what I wanted to read next, I was thinking about rereading L.A. Confidential, but I wanted something a little lighter after the last book, so I went with The Land of Stories- The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer.  I've only read the prologue but it seems like it will be a lot of fun.

I love books

So I decided to start another blog.  This one will record all the books I read through out the year.

I love going to the bookstore and getting a new book.  Since moving into the new house we decided to make the living room a library, this is a current view, we've added more books to it and plan on getting at least 4 more bookshelves.  My sister and I go to The Poisoned Pen Bookstore in Scottsdale, Arizona, where a lot of authors come to talk about their latest book and to sign copies. There is always someone that we want to go see at least a couple times a month.  This month we plan on going to see James Rollins, Brad Meltzer, and Ian Rankin.  Check this place out this it's a great place.

So right now I'm reading the latest Pendergast book, Two Graves by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, so far I like it better then the last book, Cold Vengeance.  The Pendergast series is one of my favorite series.

I just finish City of Bones, and loved it, I can't wait for the movie.

I'll post my final thoughts on Two Graves when I'm finished and let you know what my next book will be.

I still read fairytales. . . and so much more Blog Design by Ipietoon
